It’s a bad day for love, but a good day for Flower Shops
The hype around this song has been unbelievable. For over a month(at least!), the medias has been full of flower shop longing. What’s the fuzz? And who is Ernest?
In despite of Morgan Wallens racial slur soon after the release of his latest album, Morgan Wallen has completely taken the American continent with his double album “Dangerous: The Double Album” last year.
The Double Album debuted atop the US Billboard200 and the Canadian Albums Chart. It would remain atop the Canadian chart for four consecutive weeks, and the US chart for six consecutive weeks, marking the first new album from a country artist to do that since Garth Brooks' The Chase in 1992.
It wasn’t going to stop there. Wallen soon became the first artist to ever chart six songs within the top 10 of Hot Country Songs at the same time in the week after his album's release, with "Wasted on You", "More Than My Hometown", "Somebody's Problem", "7 Summers", "Sand in My Boots", and "Warning".
The album kept on breaking records and turned out to be Best-Selling Album of 2021 – As of November:
Morgan Wallen | Dangerous: The Double Album – 2,820,000 sales
Olivia Rodrigo | Sour – 2,448,000 sales
Drake | Certified Lover Boy – 1,516,000 sales
Pop Smoke | Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon – 1,349,000 sales
Justin Bieber | Justice – 1,306,000 sales
The Kid Laroi | F*ck Love – 1,288,000 sales
Dua Lipa | Future Nostalgia – 1,246,000 sales
Doja Cat | Planet Her – 1,179,000 sales
The Weeknd | After Hours – 1,175,000 sales
Luke Combs | What You See Is What You Get – 1,135,000 sales
As a fun fact, we asked the followers at Boots of Europe their opinion on who they would pick to see if they had to choose between Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen, and Luke Combs won by far. Is Morgan Wallen an European success? Time will tell.
Morgan Wallen has recently done a collaboration with Chicago rapper ”Lil Durk“, worth seeing.
Who is ERNEST with the flowers?
Morgan Wallens recent collaboration is Flower Shops ft. Ernest. But who is Ernest? Truth is he is a hit making songwriter, and also an up&coming country artist you shouldn’t miss.
Born and raised in Nashville, and one of music rows most sought-after co-writer, with four #1 smashes with Morgan Wallen’s “More Than My Hometown,” Florida Georgia Line’s “I Love My Country,” Chris Lane’s “Big, Big Plans,” and Sam Hunt’s “Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90’s.” A MULTI-PLATINUM hit with Diplo and Wallen’s “Heartless” is also part of his growing catalog, and other notable cuts include Lane’s current single, “Fill Them Boots,” FGL’s “Blessings” and more – including 11 tracks on Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album.
Now the long wait is over. Flower Shop song is here. And it’s different. Forget the electric drums. This one has a retro vibe. Lots of acoustic guitar and steel. Yet it’s true to the redneckish sound Morgan Wallen and ERNEST fans has come to love.
Take a listen:
Boots opinion is ready: SOLD. This is good. Steel and a sad story? Can’t go wrong. So let’s just lean back while we wait for another #1.
Flower Shops Lyrics – ERNEST & Morgan Wallen
It’s a beautiful day She’s been cryin all night Awe There’s tears in her blues And blood shot in mine This benders been bendin It’s hell bound to break My baby’s had all she can take
Mister I’ll take your roses If you cut off the thorns She can’t take no more I’ll buy violets and daisies To hide all the crazy It’s gonna take all you’ve got Awe It’s a bad day for love But a good day for flower shops
Well I took some pills And She took the dogs Awe it’s all gone to hell She’s gone to her moms And I took up drinkin Since she took the time To tell me I took the best years of her life
So buddy I’ll take your roses If you cut off the thorns She can’t take no more I’ll buy violets and daisies To hide all the crazy Yeah It’s gonna take all you’ve got It’s a tough day for love But a good day for flower shops
Roses are red Violets are blue, I don’t need one, I need one million to get you….
So mister I’ll take your roses If you cut off the thorns She can’t take no more I’ll buy violets and daisies To get back my baby It’s gonna take all you’ve got Awe It’s a bad day for love But a good day for flower shops
