Kassidy is an up and coming artist Country artist from North West of England. She releases her debut song ‘Whiskey Off Your Lips’ on 24th October 2025; and the song is produced by Tom Aston.
“I wrote it myself back in January, and from the moment I finished it, I knew it was the song I wanted to introduce myself to the world with. It’s a sultry, sexy, soulful country track about that feeling and desire for someone when you know they’re the one.”
The song, has a light floating touch throughout, similar to being a daydream, perhaps done intentionally to emulate how we can become dazed in love.

“Baby you walk in like trouble tonight
Boots on the floor got me locked in tight
That crooked little grin, the fire in your eyes Damn, boy you know just what I like
Slow hands, rough touch, got me burning up Your name rolling off my tongue like whiskey does
You pull me close, say Let's take our time But I can't wait, I need you tonight.”
The opening verse details a longing love affair with a mysterious character, however the lyrics also suggest that it’s not live as “Boots on the floor” so clearly they’re not being swept off their feet. Kassidy is very descriptive setting the scene and tone of the song from the first verse, as is evident when she continues “that crooked little grin, the fire in your eyes”.
“Put your hands where they belong on me
Let your lips write a song noone else can see
Set this night on fire, let it burn real slow
Like Tennessee whiskey, let it take control.
You're the sin I don't wanna be saved from little bit of bad wrapped up in love
So kiss me hard, don't you dare quit
Cause I wanna taste the whiskey right off of your lips.”
The chorus again paints a very romantic picture, however who is this mysterious person; or perhaps its metaphorical and is the whiskey. Equally, it could be considered personification of the whiskey bottle and “let your lips write a song no one else can see” could be deemed to be the kiss with the bottle as the whiskey looses the lips and we become merry. “Set the night on fire, let it burn real slow” could be referring to the pace of the relationship, too fast and its smothered, too slow and it can’t really ignite.
It wouldn’t really be a Country song without reference to both alcohol and religion, and the chorus depicts both, referencing “you’re the sin I don’t wanna be saved from” ; this demonstrates that we’re aware that it’s not acceptable, or is damaging, however loosely touches on addiction with the “saved from” reference. There is however so much love and passion felt from the chorus especially when the lyrics say “kiss me hard” ; whether it’s love for another or more relating back to the addiction and wanting to “taste the whiskey right off your lips” is open to interpretation.

“Your hands trace every curve just right
Got me feeling breathless in the heat of the night
Hearts racing faster than a backroad ride
Boy, you make it damn hard to say goodbye
Moonlight's dripping off your skin like gold
The way you're looking at me, baby, you just know
There ain't no stopping, no turning 'round
So lay me down, let's drown this town.”
The second verse once more encapsulates the raw passion of love, and further continues the suspense between person or bottle “Your hands trace every curve… got me feeling breathless in the heat of the night.” Either referring to withdrawals or intimate passion. The allure of this mystery figure (bottle or human) clearly has such a hold and deep rooted affection that makes saying goodbye difficult.
The song returns to the chorus adding further weight to the love affair with both bottle and or lover.
“Maybe I'm an angel, but I ain't that pure
When your hands on my body feel like heaven for sure
Got my halo slipping, falling too fast
But boy, with you, I don't wanna turn back
Say I'm too sweet, baby, don't you know
There's a little bit of devil in this angel's soul
I might have wings, but tonight I'll fall
If you're the reason, I don't mind at all.”
Further religious lexicon comes in the form of “Angel”, “heaven” and “halo”. Here it’s clearly acknowledges that whilst we maybe an Angel at times, other times standards fall short and intentions aren’t as pure. “There’s a little bit of devil in this angel’s soul”. Further evidence of how besotted in this relationship we’ve become is when re realise we’d fall (sacrifice ourselves) for the other. Conversely, this fall could mean from the wagon due to the addiction.

The song builds to a close by returning one final time to the chorus, and concludes with the lyric:
“One more sip, one more kiss
Cause I can't get enough of that whiskey off your lips.”
It’s a beautiful metaphor comparing “one sip” to “one kiss” both equally addictive in their own way as they linger on the lips and drive us into daze, waiting until we meet again.
