Luke Combs World Tour 2023 came to Copenhagen, Denmark on the 4th of October 2023.
Luke Combs is 33 years old and born in North Carolina and started performing as a child, he dropped out of college and moved to Nashville where he released his first single "The way she rides" in 2014. He is married to Nicole and they have 2 children.
His career has so far brought him three Grammy Award nominations, two iHeart Radio music awards, four Academy of Country Music Awards and six Country Music Association Awards, including the 2021 and 2022 Entertainer of the Year award.
However not many were sure if Denmark was ready for a country star from Nashville when the tour was announced, therefore ticket sales started for a small venue called Vega which houses up to 1500 visitors. The demand was however huge and tickets were gone in seconds, why it was decided to move to Forum Black Box with up 6000 visitors - just as quickly the new venue was sold out and once again moved to the final Venue Royal Arena and it sold out and approximately 16.000 visitors looked forward to greeting Luke Combs.
Luke Combs walked on the the stage and a roaring crowd was ready to sing along from the start. It was obvious that this artist knows what he is doing - he was calm and walking around with his drink while entertaining in Denmark's capital - he kicked it of with Lovin´ on you and one could feel the crowd was loving him. The audience came from all sorts of places - mainly Denmark but I met people from the UK, Scotland, Ireland, US, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany and the Netherlands that had made their way to hear Luke Combs.
Like most country singer-songwriters there is a lot of history behind the songs they write and when he sang "beautiful crazy" he told the audience that he wrote the song for a girl he had only known for a short period of time and it was a win/lose situation because like he said - she would either run for the hills or think he was cute - luckily for him it worked - she thought he was cute and still does and has just given birth to his second child Beau in August and the song is really crazy beautiful.
Luke was drawn to a song while driving along with his father. The song has always been loved by him and he has played this cover many times before putting it on his album. His performance of Tracy Chapmans hit "Fast Car" was amazing and the whole Arena was singing along and I dare to see that even Tracy Chapman fans are thrilled that this song he been revived - I know I am...
We rounded up the evening with "Beer never broke my heart" before the encore and the song "the kind of love we make" silenced the Royal Arena and was the perfect ending to a perfect night.
Live Nation did an outstanding job in arranging the concert at Royal Arena and Luke Combs delivered and entertained and the audience loved him.
I can only hope we will have more and more country artist doing concerts in Denmark and the Nordics as the interest is growing fast and people are beginning to realize that there is more to country music than what is commonly known.
